After graduating from the University
of Georgia with a Master's of Social Work degree, I began my counseling career working for the Department of Juvenile Justice providing supervision and comprehensive assessments for youth who had been committed to the state for behavioral issues. I then began work with adolescents and adults in both outpatient and
residential treatment settings.
I have extensive experience working
with clients in crisis through both a national suicide crisis hotline and providing consults to patients experiencing mental health
and substance abuse issues in the
hospital emergency room.
I believe that self-directed skills can help healing and wellness. I use evidenced-based person-centered treatments to help people heal, work through conflicts, enhance well-being, and find peace of mind.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my goal is to help clients seeking
change, identify personal goals and learn ways to achieve the life that they desire. I utilize primarily evidenced-based treatments to focus on issues of depression, anxiety, mood and behavior disorders.
As a Master Addiction Counselor, I have specialized training and skills
designed specifically to help clients struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. I also specialize in working with families and loved ones of those who struggle with substance abuse, helping them support the client with
love and compassion.
